Washington, D.C. – The Washington, D.C. office of the Center for Strong Public Schools (CSPS) has announced the launch of the first cohort of its Strong Schools Policy Fellowship—which will equip leaders with the tools to transform public education in D.C.

Commenting on the list of accepted fellows, CSPS DC Deputy Director Victor Horton noted: “The caliber of the applicants for this first-of-its-kind cohort was incredibly high, and we were careful to select the individuals who have the strongest chance of impacting the education landscape here in D.C. I am so proud of the group that we have put together, and I can’t wait to get started. By building their skills and network, this fellowship will position our participants as the future education champions for D.C. students.”

The first cohort of Strong Schools Policy fellows will include:

• Chandler Dennard

• Christine Miller

• Jon Alfuth

• Joshua Wiley

• Wilberta Bynum

The Strong Schools Policy Fellowship will run from January to March in 2026.
