Garry moved to Texas more than a decade ago and has remained deeply engaged in state politics across the state, district, and local levels. Prior to joining CSPS, he served as Executive Director of a statewide education advocacy organization in Texas, where he helped raise millions of dollars and played a key role in electing over a dozen education reform-minded progressives to pivotal state offices. Before transitioning to advocacy, Garry spent over three years as Chief of Staff in the Texas Senate and successfully led the state’s most competitive Senate race during the 2018 cycle—a campaign recognized as "Best Challenger Campaign" by Capitol Inside. Earlier in his career, he worked as a political communications professional with a Texas-focused Political Action Committee.
